Faraday Microgrids Secures Grant for Children's Hospital Resilient Grid with Energy Storage (CHARGES)

Leading the Way in Energy Resilience for Healthcare Facilities

Faraday Microgrids is proud to announce that we have been awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Demonstration Program to develop a groundbreaking microgrid system for Children’s Hospitals. This project, named CHARGES (Children’s Hospital Resilient Grid with Energy Storage), underscores our commitment to creating resilient, sustainable energy solutions for the healthcare industry.

The Challenge: Energy Security for Healthcare

Children’s Hospitals, like all healthcare facilities, require uninterrupted power to ensure patient safety and continuous operations, especially during grid outages. However, traditional power sources often fail in emergencies, leaving hospitals vulnerable.

Recognizing this critical issue, Faraday Microgrids sought out and successfully secured funding to develop an advanced microgrid solution, ensuring power resilience for these essential facilities.

The Solution: Faraday Microgrids Leads the Development of Advanced Microgrids

With the LDES grant in hand, Faraday Microgrids will spearhead the development and implementation of a cutting-edge microgrid that integrates long-duration energy storage (LDES) and renewable energy sources. This project will ensure that Children’s Hospitals can maintain operations even during extended power outages.

Our Role in the CHARGES Project:

  • Grant Acquisition: Faraday Microgrids successfully applied for and secured funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s LDES Demonstration Program.
  • System Design: We will lead the development of a customized microgrid solution that integrates LDES technology with renewable energy.
  • Implementation: Faraday will oversee the installation and ongoing management of the microgrid, ensuring it meets the specific needs of Children’s Hospitals.
