First Renewable Energy Microgrid to Automatically Island and Support Hospital Emergency Power
SYSTEM:
3.5MW SOLAR + 15MWh BATTERY, 1MW FUEL CELL, 6MW DIESEL GENERATORS, MICROGRID CONTROLLER
As an addition to Faraday’s California Energy Commission funded projects, our team is currently in the design stage for a solar and non-lithium, long-duration energy storage microgrid for a tribal nation in Northern California. This large scale microgrid will provide critical support for the tribe’s facilities, resiliency services during utility outages, support for emergency relief efforts carried out by the tribe, and will be a key piece in the tribe’s progress toward energy independence. This project is currently scheduled to be commissioned in Q3-Q4 of 2026.
